In This Episode, Darlene and S.M. Stevens and discuss:
Her journey from working in corporate America to becoming an author in mid-life. She discusses some of the challenges in her life, which gave her time to consider writing her novels.
Major life obstacles propelled her to look deeper into her creative side.
Rather than be stagnant, S.M. tapped into her creative well and wrote her first book for her younger book.
When troubled times visited again, S.M. wrote more, and another book for her older daughter was published.
Her book, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades is the first novel and deals with themes of sexual harassment and repressed memories. She discusses the fact that despite these issues, the protagonists live fulfilling lives.
The importance of finding something passionate for themselves is imperative as one chapter closes.
“There is no such thing as a small trauma.” - S.M. Stevens
